Platelets are colorless cell fragments in the blood that help bleeding stop and injuries heal. When activated with calcium chloride, platelets in the blood release growth factors that strengthen and repair the tissues in which they are placed. We create PRP from a small sample of a patient’s own blood that is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the red and white blood cells.
After initial certification in Vampire® treatments, our medical staff undergoes continuing education on PRP preparation each year. While other practices may perform PRP treatments occasionally, we prepare and administer PRP every single day.
