Now that autumn has arrived, it’s time to say goodbye to summer and the sun damage we may have suffered during the season. While a little sun exposure may not seem like a big deal, keeping photoaging at bay is one of the most important steps you can take to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy.

Fortunately, you can treat dark spots, fine lines, crepiness, and more with laser skin resurfacing. People come from cities like Bellevue and throughout the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area to our medispa for effective treatments and exceptional care. Read on to learn more about a few of our favorite ways to renew your skin after summer.

LaseMD™

A non-ablative fractional laser, LaseMD creates microchannels in the skin to stimulate natural collagen production. This reduces sun spots and hyperpigmentation caused by UV exposure, which some studies estimate is responsible for 80% of all signs of facial aging. LaseMD’s boost to your skin’s collagen production also gives your skin a smoother and more youthful texture.

The treatment is quick and comfortable, only requiring a topical numbing cream to offset some warmth you may feel. While your skin may feel red and sensitive for 1 or 2 days afterward, there is little to no downtime involved.

You’ll start to see results in about a week, and those results will continue to improve over the next few months. Most people need a series of 2 or 3 treatments to see their best results.

AFT Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatment

Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT) is an intense pulsed light treatment that addresses dark pigmentation, sun spots, and lingering redness. It works by breaking up excess melanin in your skin to even out your coloration and reduce dark areas.

You may feel a slight snap to the skin with each pulse of bright light. Recovery time is minimal. Your skin may have some mild redness for 1 or 2 days and pigmentation will darken before sloughing away.

You will likely see results within about a week and notice continued improvement for a couple of months. You may need between 2 and 4 treatments to remove especially dark spots.

ClearLift™ Laser Skin Resurfacing

ClearLift is a non-ablative laser skin resurfacing treatment that uses pulses of energy to penetrate below the skin’s surface and stimulate collagen production. The result? Reduced fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.

The treatment involves minimal discomfort and downtime. Most people see results within a few weeks and achieve their best outcomes with 2 to 6 sessions.

Opus Plasma

Opus Plasma is a powerful option for reversing the effects of sun exposure while promoting healthier, rejuvenated skin. This advanced skin resurfacing treatment targets fine lines, sun spots, rough skin texture, and other UV-related concerns. Tailored to your skin’s unique needs, it uses fractional plasma energy to stimulate collagen production and accelerate cellular renewal, improving skin elasticity and complexion.

Compared with traditional laser treatment, Opus Plasma requires minimal downtime—your skin will likely be red for 1 to 3 days if you have a mild-strength treatment or about a week if you have a more aggressive treatment. Most people achieve the best results with an initial series of 2 to 3 treatments spaced a month apart.
